Partnership Funding 2010 – Now Closed

The mission of the Partnership for Prince George's County is to strengthen and advocate for community-based nonprofits working to address the needs of traditionally underserved residents in Prince George's County. Click here to view our mission, vision, and theory of change.

The partnership is interested in investing in organizations whose work helps to further its mission. In response to community needs, Partnership funding target areas include:

  • Organization Capacity Building
  • Advocacy Capacity Building and Projects
  • Lifeline Organization Capacity Building

Approximately $300,000 is available for grants and programs as follows:

  • Grants for Organization Capacity Building and/or Advocacy Capacity Building and Projects will not exceed $25,000
  • Agencies awarded Lifeline Organization Capacity Building Grants will receive 500 hours of Technical Assistance

Eligibility Criteria

Prince George's County organizations that have been successfully in existence and serving traditionally underserved communities in Prince George's County for a minimum of two years (see map of zip codes)

  • Organizations whose clients served are at minimum 50% traditionally underserved communities in Prince George's County.
  • Completion of Non-profit Organization Capacity and/or Advocacy Self Assessment due January 15, 2010.
  • Organizational budget size requirement:
    • Capacity Building Funding – operating budgets of not less than $50,000 and no more than $500,000.
    • Advocacy Funding – organizations with operating budgets of not less than $50,000, no budget maximum.
    • Lifeline Organization Funding – organizations with operating budgets of not less than $1 million, no budget maximum.
  • Organizations that received funding in 2009 are not eligible to apply.
  • The Partnership's funding collaborative is comprised of an array of supporters, who have an interest in capacity building (including program that offer: HIV/AIDS services and services to women headed households and/or women and girls, housing, emergency services, etc.) and advocacy.
  • If eligible, organizations can submit request(s) for any two Partnership target areas.

1. Organization Capacity Building – An intervention(s) to address a need(s) that, when met, will transform and /or strengthen the organization's ability to function – as depicted in the chart below:

2. Advocacy – The work an organization does to support systemic change for the community as a whole, i.e. community organizing, budget advocacy, community needs assessment, asset mapping, etc.

3. Lifeline Services – Providing families with basic necessities and sustenance including food, housing, medical care/preventive care, childcare, job training and emergency financial assistance to our most vulnerable residents.
